2024-2025 Camp KEEP Application

The Camp KEEP team is now accepting applications for the 2024-2025 school year. It’s been a great year for students at both KEEP Ocean in Los Osos and KEEP By the Sea in San Luis Obispo. The environmental study program continues to captivate students and we hope your instructional plans for the 2024-25 school year includes time at Camp KEEP.

Applications will be scheduled on a “first come first served basis” with recognition of continuous participation. This year’s application process will be completed below.

The application deadline is February 23, 2024.

Be sure to complete your application online before February 23, 2024 as our year books quickly! Note: the application is not an official contract. Contracts will follow this spring.

2024-25 KEEP fee schedule:
  • 5 Day $400.00 (per student, chaperone, & teacher)
  • 4 Day (limited availability) $353.00 (per student, chaperone, & teacher)
  • Out of county/private fee +$55.00 (per student, chaperone, & teacher)

These prices are per student, counselor, and teacher.

***Possible District funding sources for Camp KEEP may include: LCAP/LCAP Carryover, ELO-P, Encumbered ESSER III(to be expended by January). Have the conversation with your Business Department.

Things to keep in mind when completing the application:

  1. The teacher to student ratio is 1:30. Ratios will be rounded up.
  2. The counselor to student ration is 1:7. Counselors must be finger-printed adults. Ratios will be rounded up.
  3. One teacher and two chaperones over the minimum ratios may attend for free.
  4. Your school will be billed at 90% of your estimate, even if fewer students attend.

An increase from the contracted number must be approved in advance and space dependent. Teachers must be credentialed district employees. Chaperones must be fingerprinted adults. High school upperclassmen may be chaperones if paired with an adult. Adults providing 1-on-1 assistance ("shadows") may not be used as chaperones. 1 teacher & 2 chaperones over the minimum can attend free. Schools arrange transportation; busses arrive between 11:30-11:45 on arrival and departure days. KCSOS transportation may be available; contact Field Trip Scheduler at 661-852-5807.

Will your school need KCSOS transportation services?(Required)
Schools arrange and pay for transportation; contact Field Trip Scheduler at 661-852-5807. KCSOS charter busses may be available for schools located within Kern County. Busses arrive between 11:30AM-11:45AM on arrival and departure day.
